Tuesday Treasures

I haven't played along for a few weeks, but thought today I would share someone very special in our lives.

Bella is our gorgeous 7 year old Lab, she was apart of our lives pre-kids. She did everything with us and unfortunately since having kids she has had to take a back seat for a while. But she is still very much apart of our lives and we love her to bits (as you can tell by these photo of her and Mahli).

A favourite family movie is 'Marley and Me', the kids love it because well the dog looks just like Bella, but with Mahli's name...

Tuesday Treasures... Craft Swaps

I received another lovely present in the mail last week. It was two brooches for Justine for the flowerpress brooch swap.

Aren't they cute!

And the kids love the Charlie and Lola card that came with it.

And can you see the cute little moleskin notebook in the background??? Yep I got that too. Isn't she generous?!?

I am totally treasuring craft swaps lately, they are allowing me to discover some great little blogs on make some new bloggy friends! Yipee!

Tuesday Treasures

My Great Aunt has just left to fly back home to Scotland. There were tears at the airport, lots of tears. It will probably be the last time she sees her brother in this life time. He is 73 this year, she is 67. I also just realised I don't have a photo of her handy. I kept forgetting to take my camera when we seen her. But she is emailing me some when she gets home.

How cool is she for a 67 year old. She emails regularly and has an iPhone! OMG. I am amazed by that because my mother has trouble texting people. And my Grandparents have no clue about computers.

So today I don't have a photo to share with you showing the thing I am treasuring. Because you can't photograph it. I am treasuring the fact that my Grandad got to spend time with his little sister who lives on the other side of the world. A place where my Grandfather might never get back to. His had a triple bypass and valve replacement at the start of the year and while recovery had a stroke. He seems to be on the mend now, but you just never know where life will take you and when it will all be over. I am just glad he had a chance to spend some time with her. And I know she is mightily grateful for the time she spent with him.

She has set me the task of getting my grandparents, my mother, aunt and my lot over to Scotland next year. I don't know if I will succeed. But I will try! I better start saving. Cause that is one expensive trip.

Tuesday Treasures

Today I am treasuring sleep ins and the whole family snuggling under the doona.

I had no photo, but it looked like this but replace add in a few humans too.
This week has been a marked improvement on last, where sleep evaded us and we where all walking zombies. I am still not sleeping much, but at least the kids are and they have even been sleeping in. This morning they climbed into my bed and snuggled with hubby and I for a good half hour. It was bliss! All of us warm under one doona on a overcast winters day.

Today I am playing along with Melody. Pop on over and see what everyone else is treasuring, it  may be a thing, a person, a place or even an idea so mosey on over an have a look.

And don't forget to pop over here and enter my giveaway.

Tuesday Treasures

image borrowed from weheartit

Sleep. I haven't been getting much of it lately. Little Ethan has been very wakeful and has been waking at least 3 times a night. B has been sharing the get ups, but we have both been exhausted. But a miracle happened last night. I put little Ethan to to bed at 7pm and didn't hear a peep from him until 6:45am! Glory Hallelujah! My little man does know how to sleep!

But don't put the cart before the horse, I still have two other children remember... yes? Well they decided that last night they would both need help going to the toilet. First Caden at 3:15, then Mahli at 3:45am. Followed by the absolute need of having to get into my bed! Cadens reason, his bed wasn't soft enough or cosy enough. Mahlis reason. She wanted to snuggle...

So this week I am treasuring the fact that Ethan has remembered how to sleep. At least I had a solid sleep from 11pm till 3:15am. Hopefully tonight I we can extend that further. And today I am touching as much wood as I can so that I didn't jinx myself with this post!

Tuesday Treasures

I am not sure what one thing I want to share with you today...

At the moment I am treasuring my books as they allow me to escape my mind and venture off into someone elses life.

This week I am spending time with Nick Carraway in the Great Gatsby.
I am about half way through and am still unsure what I think of it.

Have you read it? If so, what are your thoughts???

The bonus of disappearing into a book means I am slowly crossing of books on The Big Read list.  I still have a gazillion to go, but I am slowly getting there. I am also in the middle of Anna Karenina & Wuthering Heights... I like to mix it up a little :-P

Tuesday Treasures...

I did some thrifting... well not really thrifting... cause I was riffling through my Grandmothers cupboard and scored myself some Pyrex dishes.

I love vintage Pyrex (yep that is the old granny in me coming out again!). They are so much better than the new Pyrex dishes which are so bland and boring and just ain't what they used to be...

What kitchen items do you miss from the past???

Here is one more thing I treasure...
Built and photographed by Caden
Caden built this from the looking at the picture on the box they came in. I think it is pretty good for a 4 year old... but I am biased :-)

The Blogosphere is a dangerous place...

A very dangerous place indeed. You see because of blogging I have discovered the world of Blythe Dolls. Aren't they adorable? And Simply Guava is coming to live with us. She will be Mahli's doll as she picked her and I will start saving my pennies so I can get one of my own. I have expressed this sentiment to B and he was less then impressed as apparently grown women don't play with dolls, but I will let you in on a secret.... He still plays with toy cars! Yep that's right a 26 year old Male playing with matchbox cars! So I think it is perfectly fine for me to start collecting Blythe Dolls.

Tuesday Treasures

It's Tuesday treasures time again! I am loving these link ups. They make me so happy because they either bring back memories, make me take stock of my life and show me that my life really isn't that bad...

Well enough of my blabbering, my treasure this week is this...
It's not the best photo as it was taken on my phone, but this little gem is my 'rabbit plate'. I received it from my great grandmother when she past away. I was 11 at the time and am so thankful that I knew that wonderful lady for so long. When I was young I apparently used to sit in front of this plate that sat on her dresser and stare at it for ages. So from then on it was known as The Rabbit Plate.

What are you treasuring today?

Tuesday Treasures

This is my first time linking up to Tuesday Treasures. And for this first time I wanted to share this photo. It isn't the best shot, but Miss Mahli is camera shy at the moment.

To explain- I treasure her fashion sense or lack there of. You may be thinking, What, she looks cute in here red puppy jumper and jeans. But what you can't tell from the photo is that 1. She isn't wearing a top underneath and 2. We live in Central QLD where winter won't hit for another 2 months at least!
That kid makes me laugh so many times a day! MOST of the time she is a treasure to have around EXCEPT when she starts a tantrum. Then the screaming starts and doesn't stop for a long long time.

What are you treasuring today?
