Things I'm Loving

I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and a stuffy nose, that seemed to progress to a fever and body aches as they day went on. Today I have woken up much the same if not worse. But hey, at least my week started out well!

I got actually had some time for sewing and

creating the wall art for Caden's room.

Ethan progressed from only saying cheese in photos to pretending to growl...

Mahli tried her hand at striking a poses.
That girls is certainly not shy around a camera!

And yesterday Caden started football training (Rubgy League for those playing at home) He was so excited about it. I really wish I made it down there to watch him, but instead I stayed home. Hopefully I will get there next week.

Oh and I recently purchased this little beauty for $10!
It does need some work, but for the time being I am just happy to look at her!

What are you loving this week?

I am linking up with the lovely Paisley Jade for Things I'm Loving.

A new day

After yesterday where I just felt blah all day I decided to pack us all up and head out. We did a spot of op shopping this morning followed by the mundane task of back to school shopping. Caden was super excited to get some school shoes though. He looked so proud trying them on.

The kids scored big time at the op shops. Caden asked to get a kite and I said yes thinking that it was only one of them. When we opened the packet when we got home we found out there were actually two! Talk about pleased as punch. So of course we had to head to the park this afternoon to try them out.

I think I took about 200 photos at the park. I played around with my lenses etc. But I will show you some of them another day. I am also dying to show you some of my op shop finds. I will save that for the weekend though.

Getting out of the house really done us a world of good today. There are still jobs here waiting for me, but hey, at least the kids didn't cause any more mess around the house now did they?!

Do you find just getting out of the house helps everyones moods?

Flea Market Finds...

I actually got a chance to do some thrifting this week. Only a small chance though and did have two kids with me so my purchases were heavily influenced by them.

Both the pram and the cradle came with dolls and blankets, bottles and books for the 'babies'. I really didn't want to get the plastic pram, but it was only $4 and she did love it.

I did also find a complete set of retro dinnerware. It was exactly like the set my Granny used to have. Alas I didn't buy it because B would of flipped. He doesn't understand my love of dinnerware and has put us on a dinnerware purchasing ban until the kids break every plate in the house... hmmm maybe I can 'help' the kids with this and my retro set might be still there for me to buy!

I am joining in with Sophie at Her Library Adventures today. Pop on over and check out all the thrifting goodness.

Tuesday Treasures...

I did some thrifting... well not really thrifting... cause I was riffling through my Grandmothers cupboard and scored myself some Pyrex dishes.

I love vintage Pyrex (yep that is the old granny in me coming out again!). They are so much better than the new Pyrex dishes which are so bland and boring and just ain't what they used to be...

What kitchen items do you miss from the past???

Here is one more thing I treasure...
Built and photographed by Caden
Caden built this from the looking at the picture on the box they came in. I think it is pretty good for a 4 year old... but I am biased :-)

I am playing along with Melody over at http://thehouseonthesideofthehill.blogspot.com/. Pop on over and see what everyone else is Treasuring this Tuesday.
Till next time...
