the simple thing week 7 {with linky}

a weekly linky where we all can share the simple things in life that are making us smile.

We are well an truly into the school year now and things are getting down to business. And the simplest thing that made me smile this past week was just how well they are both doing {touch wood} They have both settled in really well and are grasping the difference in schooling easily.

Ethan, well truthfully, he is stressing me out at the moment. He has obviously just gone through a huge developmental process as his words are amazing, but his behavior is just, well difficult.

I also received this gorgeous little card in the mail this week. Ros from Sew Delicious set up a surprise for Anne from Domesblissity, but of course Anne wanted to be a part of the surprise too, so Ros pulled a swifty on here on told Anne that the surprise was for me.

What simple things made you smile this week? I would love it if you linked up below and shared your simple things from this week.

Guidelines:
• it would be fantastic if you grabbed the badge below and added it to your post.
• please stop by and visit some of the other posts that are linked up.
• please spread the word about this linky. That would really make my day xx

Thankful Thursday- Unexpected presents

Don't you just love it when a parcel arrives in your mail box and you have no idea where it come from? Or maybe you do but just wasn't expecting it.

That happened to me this morning. I received a parcel that was marked as Air Mail from New Zealand. I was thinking hang on, I haven't ordered anything from across the ditch lately... And then I opened it to find this:

And then I opened it it some more and found this:

And then I jumped up and down excited over how gorgeous it is! I mean isn't it the cutest thing in the world???

Thank you so much Juliet! I love it to the moon and back.

And I have decided to do get in on the loving and do my own Pay it Forward just in time for Christmas.

If you would like to be a part of Pay it Forward, please let me know in the comments and I'll be in touch. To be a part of Pay it Forward you to agree to these rules:

"I promise something handmade to the FIRST 5 people who leave a comment here. However, to be eligible, you must repost this message, offering something handmade to 5 other people. The rules are that it must be handmade by you, and it must be sent to your 5 giftees sometime in 2011. Ready, set, GO!

Now I know that 2011 is coming to an end so I figure we will extend it until Easter 2012. Does this sound okay??

No worries if you don't want to be a part of pay it forward!

So do you like unexpected presents or surprises in the mail??

I am also linking up with Kate from Kate Says Stuff for Thankful Thursday

What some people don't get

Yes, everything may seem fine when you are reading someones blog, but behind the scenes there are usually many things going on. I mean not the whole of my life makes this blog. For one, it would be mightily boring if it did and two, I do like some privacy.

So some things that I haven't told you:

  • Ethan got his 12 month needles last week (3 weeks late as he had to get over his croup first)
  • This in turn has made him irritable and not sleeping for the past 4 days
  • My Anxiety is giving me hell and leaving the house is a real effort
  • I am trying out some new treatments for my PND, but I am taking a beating until they kick in
  • Mahlis new trick is to barter her way out of things, be it only eating 4 mouthfuls of dinner instead of the whole lot, or only doing 1 job instead of two. Even down to whether or not we can brush her hair today
  • Caden is practising everyday to make his own sandwiches. He tells me he has to practice, practice, practice everyday
  • B is at work again today. It seems he is never home (he does shift work, but has been doing  a lot of overtime too)
  • Ethan has learnt how to climb up onto things, like my bed, the lounge etc. If only he knew how to climb down without hurting himself in the process
This is only a few of the things going on. There is still a lot left unsaid. So please remember that when you see me or talk to me, you don't know everything...
