Sunday Session: Pitch Perfect

So I am a little late to the Pitch Perfect game, but I finally watched it yesterday and I love it!

Rebel Wilson is awesome, as is Anna Kendrick and Skylar Astin.

Anyhow, here is some Pitch Perfect goodness for you Sunday!

Have you seen Pitch Perfect?

I am linking up with Cass for Sunday Sessions.

Sunday Session

I don't think I have ever linked up to Sunday Sessions before. The Linky is now being hosted over at Cass Can Sew so I thought I would give it a whirl this morning. I have been listening to a fair bit of music lately, but I keep going back to these two songs.

What about you? What have you been listening to lately?

The Bloggers Boogie: The Wedding Song Edition

A few weeks ago B asked me if I could remember our wedding music, and well I couldn't remember all of it.

So in an effort to remember and make sure I never forget I thought I should document it here:

We got married in the Chapel on Daydream Island in 2008. While guests were waiting they played a CD with these songs on it.

The guest services manager 'stole' the CD from us because he loved it so much.

For my walk down the aisle we played this.

For the signing of the register we played these.

And as we walked out we played this.

I did want to include 'The Luckiest' by Ben Folds and U2's Beautiful day, but we chose not too due to the fact that B's sisters had them as her wedding songs when she got married shortly before us.

Are you married? Can you remember the music from the day?

I wasn't sure what I was going to pick this week, but I went to youtube and started searching and here is what I came up with.

I am linking up with Little White Dove's for her weekly Bloggers Boogie.

Bringing My Inner Gleek Out

I have been meaning to link up with Little White Dove for, oh I don't know, at least a month, but Saturday comes around and it is like I have a brain fart and just keep forgetting!

Never fear, I am here today, and I just trawled you tube to find some Glee happiness. I am a bit under the weather today and Glee never falls to make me smile.

How about you? What songs make you smile?

Lion King 2 & 3 + a giveaway!

I was 9 when The Lion King was first released in 1994. I remember watching it over and over again with my baby cousin and as soon as I hear words Hakuna Matata my head is taken back to good old Timon and Pumba and the original Lion King.

Now that The Lion King 2- Simba's Pride and The Lion King 3 are being released on DVD and Blu-Ray and they are getting on my kids radars I am taken back to Hakuna Matata and the glory of The Lion King all over again.

And not to forget Sir Elton Johns music magic

Now I really don't think anything can top the first Lion King for me, but 2 and 3 come pretty close.

Complete Simba’s journey with The Lion King 2, a film for the entire family. Experience the power of “Upendi”—which means “love” – as Kiara, Simba’s strong-willed daughter, seeks adventure away from her father’s watchful gaze. Timon and Pumbaa can do only so much to protect her, especially when she encounters an intriguing rival, Kovu, a cub who is being groomed to lead Scar’s pride. As Kiara and Kovu search for their proper places in the great “Circle Of Life,” they discover that it may be their destiny to reunite their prides and bring peace to the Pride Lands.

The Lion King 3 will take you waaay back to the beginning, before Simba’s story began. From their uniquely hysterical perspective, Timon and his windy pal Pumbaa—the greatest unsung heroes of the savanna—reveal where they came from, how they helped Simba save the Serengeti and what really happened behind the scenes of The Lion King’s biggest events.
My kids have been enjoying The Lion King 2 and 3 over the last few days and now your kids can too! I have 2 Blu-ray copies of each to giveaway. So two lucky MahliMoo, Me and Three readers will receive a copy of The Lion Kind 2 and 3 on Blu-ray just in time for the Easter school holidays.

To enter simply complete the rafflecopter widget below.

And not to worry if you aren't one of the lucky winners. The Lion King 2- Simba's Pride and The Lion King 3 will be available on both Blu-ray and DVD on April 4th 2012.

Don't Worry Be Happy

This post is for B. I know he has been stressed lately, we all have. We have just been going through the motions and not actually actively living our lives and creating memories for our kids.

That is going to change! And Guy is going to give us some tips as to how to do that!

I mean he really does make some valid points in that song. There really is no point wishing for what you don't have. It is so much for satisfying being grateful for what you do have. It is an amazingly happy and gracious way to live.

What are you grateful for right now?

I am linking up with Jess for IBOT and you totally should too!

They've got the moves like Jagger

I mentioned a few weeks ago that my kids love to dance. Well yesterday I actually got a chance to film some. This isn't best video of them. It seems B deleted it... and I only discovered this when I started writing this post!

NB. For those of you that notice that Ethan is in a disposable... yes we do still use cloth but after he ate a tonne of strawberries and pumpkin in one day he ended up with a particularly bad nappy rash and I'm not putting sudocream anywhere near our nappy stash!

Tuesday Tunes

(If you are reading this via email, the video won't show, sorry you will have to view it on the blog)

We have been bustin' our moves to this a lot in the last week. Dancing is one of the activities we do when no one is watching...

Mahli is really getting into it. She is forever asking me to check out her new moves. Caden usually does his own version of a highland jig and well Ethan does this kind of raise the roof action that is hilarious!

I have been trying to record them, but every time I whip out my iPhone they hide from me.

What have you been listening to lately? Do your kids dance a lot?

I am linking up with Jess at Diary of a SAHM for I blog on Tuesdays

Things I'm Loving

Today I am so loving that B gets home tonight after a week away. We have all missed him and Caden has told me that he isn't allowed to go away again...

I am also loving that I actually got to some time to sew this week.

It did mean Caden and Mahli 'helped' me, but that is starting to work out okay as I love that they are interested it creating. Caden love s it when I increase the stitch length as far as it can go and increase the tension, put the machine on 'turtle' and give him some scraps to play with!

I am also loving this

It came in the mail yesterday and Caden and Mahli have been picking out which ones we are going to make first!

And you know what else I am absolutely loving this week. I had a sale in my Made It store. I had completely forgotten that I set it up to sell my market stock as I haven't had time to do markets for months. And I sold two of these on Monday.

I may or may not have done a happy dance as B as been asking to me clear out my stock for ages. So yesterday I actually started updating the store in the hope I can clear it all out soon.

Do you love Adele? I do and have been listening to her all week. This song gives me goosebumps.

What are you loving this week? I am playing along with Paisley Jade today (as like most Fridays!) Pop on over and check out her fab blog. Be sure to check out the awesome crochet blanket she is putting together for her sons birthday. I am loving that too!

Music Monday- Pete Murray

I love Pete Murray. I could listen to him for days and not get sick of him. I do seem to prefer his 'older' stuff compared to what he has just released, but I still do love his new stuff too.

What music have you been listening to lately??

You can find a few of my favourites here.

I love David Gray. Retro Mummy just shared this on facebook.

It was her wedding song and it was mine too. We (B and I that is, lol) also played this

I love his voice so so much! He really does make me swoon...

What was your wedding song? Or what do you want your wedding song to be??

Am I a Prude?

Photo has no relevance, just though it was cute...
Whilst driving in the car we are usually tuned into the local FM radio station. This week I was sitting in the car with Caden whilst B ran into the shops. The radio was on. A song started playing, I hadn't heard it before so and was listening to it when the words kind of hit me in the face.

All of a sudden I was being told to 'get on my genitals'... Right then I decided we were done with mainstream radio. It has been getting bad for a long time. The words Bitch, Sex, Shit etc have all been allowed to be played on the radio for the past few years. Radio edits these days only gloss over the F-bomb and the horrid C word. Every things else seems to be fair game.

But really is switching the radio off going to do any good? Plus I would go crazy if it meant we were doomed to be listening to Justine Clark and the Wiggles all bloody day!

It is a hard choice. My kids love music. We have music on in the house most days streaming from our iPods. Currently Caden and Mahli's favorite bands are the Far East Movement and Black Eyed Peas. The enjoy singing along to the songs and making up dances so in turn they like listening to the radio in the car. But when we are faced with  Avril being a crazy bitchRhianna loving the smell of it, Wynter Gordon dirty talking for 3 minutes, plus a whole lot more I really don't know what to do. I know I am not the first parent faced with this question and won't be that last. But really what did happen to the good old radio edit that got rid of all the 'inapproriate' words?

Am I just a prude or has radio gone to far with what is acceptable?
