Board Games for Families

As families look for more ways to bond and spend quality time together, board games have made a huge comeback. But which games are the best for families to play together? Here are our top picks:

1. Monopoly - This classic game never gets old and is great for all ages. It's perfect for teaching children about money and finance, as well as strategy and negotiation skills.

2. Settlers of Catan - This game has taken the board game world by storm in recent years and it's easy to see why. With simple rules and endless possibilities, Settlers of Catan is great for family game nights.

3. Ticket to Ride - This game is a great option for families who love to travel and explore new places. It's also a great way to learn about geography and history.

4. Clue/Cluedo - This classic game is a must-have for any family game collection. It's great for teaching deduction and critical thinking skills.

5. Codenames - This game is perfect for families with older children or teens. It's a team-based game that requires strategic thinking and communication skills.

6. Apples to Apples - This game is perfect for families who love to laugh and have fun. It's a great option for younger children and it's sure to bring out the silliness in everyone. No matter which game you choose, the most important thing is spending quality time with your family. Board games are a great way to unplug and connect with each other, so gather your family around the table and let the fun begin!

{Getting Around} Monkey Mia 2015

WARNING: This post is EXTREMELY photo heavy!

Last week we ventured to Monkey Mia for a few nights in the caravan, the first two days were cold and wet, but that didn't stop the kids swimming. Pilbara kids NEVER pass up an opportunity to get in the water when we are away.

But the last two days were beautiful and warm, perfect swimming weather! Well at least for the kids, the water was still too cold for me.

Monkey Mia is a beautiful place, even if the dolphin interaction is a bit too hyped up for my liking. We seen more dolphins just out the front of our caravan then we did at the interaction. There was no chance for photo's of them, but we seen up to 6 dolphins swim less than a meter away from us. The kids couldn't believe their luck.

And now they are asking when we are going back again... We will go back, but I'm not looking forward to the drive. It was LONG.

Top 5 Family Movies

We are starting to implement some Family Fun Nights here and one of the things we were hoping to do was incorporate it into a regular family movie night.

We have a few movies that we enjoy watching with the kids. Some are recent movies and some our ones from our childhood.

Cool Runnings- We recently introduced the kids to this and they loved it from the get go.

Meet The Robinsons- This is a Disney movie that the whole family enjoys.

Cheaper By The Dozen 1 and 2- Okay that is two movies, but they are both fab and Steve Martin is hilarious!

Daddy Daycare- Eddie Murphy is hilarious in this and the kids love it.

Yogi Bear- We have been watching this a lot lately. The kids couldn't believe that it was a cartoon that B and I watched as children and now it is a movie. We all love watching it and watching Ethan's facial expressions during this movie is pretty priceless!

What are you favourite family movies?

Road Tripping: Perth Zoo

Warning: Photo overload coming up!

When I said we crammed a lot into our mini break, I wasn't joking. On Monday we headed to the Perth Zoo. B is lucky enough to get free tickets for the Zoo through his work, so we certainly weren't going to miss that opportunity!

These are only a few of the photo's from the Zoo. I have a load more. And did you notice Ethan with a camera? Well, we also have a load of photos of every ones bottoms too. And I mean a LOAD! Today I am thankful for digital cameras! Can you imagine how many spools of film he would of wasted on peoples bottoms if digital cameras didn't exist?

Road tripping: Kings Park

Last week we set off on a mini break down to Perth. All up over the past days we traveled over 3400kms in the car. Needless to say we are so over sitting in the car right now.

But boy did we cram a lot in over those few days. There were trips to IKEA and actual shopping centers, trips to the park, beach and everything in between. The kids even went to the movies with my Mum, Aunt and Uncle while B and I got to have dinner out at an Italian Restaurant.

My Aunt and Uncle became our tour guides and one such place they took us to was Kings Park. Man that place is HUGE!

We had a BBQ dinner here and I can totally see us going back there to explore again and again.

Have you been to Perth?
