Catching up

These past few weeks have been crazy busy and my sewing time hasn't taken priority so I am so so behind in my BOMs.

I really really wanted to finish the 2012 Fat Quarter Shop Block of the Months before the 2013 kits started to arrive, but alas that didn't happen and whilst I have started cutting the finishing kit I only just completed the 12 block this morning.

And you can tell it has been a while since I have made a pinwheel...

But it feels good to have it done.

And I even finished my one of my August blocks for the Modern Blocks quilt a long. I can't share the full block yet, but here is a little sneak peek-

I still have to make my solids version though. Maybe tonight!

It feels good to have them done, but I think my sewing will be limited for the next two weeks. We have visitors! Yay!

Procrastinating no more!

Guess what?! This here Queen of Procrastination and Works In Progress is actually update with not one but two projects!

I am completely up to date with my Fat Quarter Shop BOM AND I have finished the first two blocks in the And Sew We Craft Modern Blocks Quilt A Long! I can't show you those blocks yet though.

So you will just have to check out my latest FQS BOM finish.

I am still waiting on block 11 to arrive but in the meantime I opened up the finishing kit and have started on the sashing and borders of the other 10 blocks.  I had to make 96 x 2 1/2 inch squares so I broke out this baby for the first time and they were cut in a flash!

I don't know who I am or what has come over me. I am never this productive!

Are you a procrastinator or do you get in and get projects finished?

Another one done

I have had a fair bit of sewing time lately and that meant that I was able to get another one of the Fat Quarter Shop Block of the Months finished.

This is block nine.

And now I just have block six left to finish... I have no idea how I missed doing that one. I was doing them all in order. I have cut all the fabric for it, so who knows I may just get it finished today!

Block of the Month Progress

After I did the big catch up back in January, I let my BOM progress slip again. But a few weeks ago I cut up all the remaining blocks.

And then well the blocks stayed all cut in their zip lock bags until yesterday when I pieced one block.

Can you see all of my errors? I looked at it and just sighed, but I figured I probably won't notice it much when it is a part of a finished quilt. I am learning to embrace imperfections. Ha!

Now I am just two blocks from being caught up. Hopefully I will get some time to do that today.

Another TWO down!

So after months of procrastination and pretty much zero sewing (I hadn't touched a sewing machine since December!) I got another TWO of the Fat Quarter Shop Designer Mystery blocks done.

 

I think I have one more block to go and I will be up to date. I am going to hunt down the other blocks I have finished tomorrow and maybe start piecing the quilt top together with what I have completed.

Well that's the plan anyway! Let's hope my sewing mojo is back for good!

Design Decor

BOM Progress!

This week I really wanted to start sewing again. I hadn't been able to because we had no room for me to set anything up and also nowhere to store my fabric. So everything had been left in boxes and put in the storage room.

One project in particular that I wanted to get back into was my blocks for Fat Quarter Shops 2012 Mystery Designer Block of the Month Club. I am so far behind and I just signed up for the 2013 blocks so I would really like to have it all pieced before the 2013 blocks start arriving.

And guess what?! I actually did make some progress on them.

I pulled out three of the block packs and cut all the required fabrics.

AND I pieced one last night!

Please excuse the bad lighting, I was excited I finished that I just snapped a photo on my phone at 11pm last night!

 I am hoping to piece the other two today!

I feels so good to be making stuff again. It is totally what I needed as I have been pretty down this week. Moving across the country really is hard work...
