Alyce picked some great fabric and I can't wait to cut into some of it!

Sunday Stash: Christmassy Goodness
So you have probably heard me whine about not living anywhere near a fabric or craft store... And if you haven't well lets get you up to speed.
The stats:
My closest Spotlight (major chain store) is 12 hrs away by car (without stopping)
My closest Lincraft is 16 hours away by car
My closest independent fabric store is 16 hours away also.
So I do A LOT of online shopping for fabric and craft supplies, but sometimes I also send my Mum shopping for me. It's a bit of a clueless adventure for my Mum as she doesn't sew or craft in any way shape or form.
But she did good recently, really good. And here is just some of the goodies she sent me.
Yep, that is 21 fat quarters of Christmassy goodness right there! Can't wait to cut into them and get making!
Thanks Mum!

Happy Mail!
There are not many benefits to living in a remote part of Australia. Okay, well there are SOME benefits... but not many.
But one benefit indeed is that it feels like Christmas at least once a week when a parcel arrives at the post office for collection (yep, no delivery to your door here!)
And last week I received a great big parcel! And in it was an assortment of goodies from Lincraft.
Now what makes it just like Christmas is the fact that I almost always completely forget what I ordered...
In this order I got some bamboo batting, some canvases, thread, needles,
yarn,
and some fabric.

Fabric Love Friday: Glimma
I had several good mail days this week and I wanted to share some of the gorgeous fabrics I received.
These fabrics are from Westwood Acres. I have been lusting over so many of the fabrics they carry for a long long time. And finally a few weeks ago I had enough saved in my paypal account to afford them (hint: I ordered a lot more than what is in this post. I planning on sharing more next week).
The above fabrics are Glimma from Lotta Jansdotter for Windham Fabrics and I can't wait to create something with them. I have a few projects in mind. Just have to narrow it down, but you already know how indecisive I am so it could take a while...

ASWC Fabric Swap
The other day I was excited to pick up my mail from the post office and find this gorgeous parcel!
And in it some super great gifts from Kimberly as a part of the ASWC Fabric Swap.
Kimberly certainly did spoil me and for that I am so very very thankful!
I have a thing for chevrons, yes I know they are soooo last year. But they will always have a home at my place!

Kimberly tells me that the prints are from Hobby Lobby and she was right in thinking I would have never seen them before. They are just gorgeous and I can't wait to make something with them. I just haven't decided what yet. Maybe some throw pillows for my bed... The options are endless.
Thank you again Kimberly!

Lookie what arrived in my mail box this week!
Isn't it gorgeous? It is the May Sweet Spring Japanese Fabric Bundle from Blossom Heart Quilts on Etsy.
I can't wait to play with these fabrics, they are just so gorgeous!

Because I don't already have enough projects on the go...
Yes, that's a long title. But it was the only thing in my head when I started writing this post.
This morning I managed to fit in a bit of sewing and instead of finishing something I have already started I decided to start something new...
In my defense I have been hanging on to these charm squares of Dream On for a long long time. I love them so so much.
Well anyway I decided to make quilt out of them, maybe a lap sized one, maybe bigger. I haven't actually done the math yet...
It is just going to be a simple coin quilt with white sashing and borders.
I've cut up 3 charm packs so far and started sewing the rectangles together. I do have another charm pack sitting there tempting be to cut it up too.
Let's see how long this project takes to finish...
I promise that I will be finishing one quilt on the weekend. I have everything ready to finish it. I just want to wait until I have a large block of time available to do it.
So how many unfinished projects to you have at the moment??

Fabric Love
When I order fabric I tend to do largish orders to take advantage of postage rates and specials.
A few weeks ago I stumbled upon an AWESOME sale over at Everyday Fabrics. The prizes were around $4.50 per yard so I went a little crazy. All up I ordered 23 yards of fabric and including postage they worked out at about $9 per yard which still super cheap for us here in Australia.
I mean look at my pretty pile!
The fabrics are:
Bunny Hill Pink
Sweet Owlies in Peach
Marmalade Leaf Sugar
Bella Solids Lime
Bells Solids Orange
Bella Solids Scarlet
Thar She Blows- Blue
Fire Clown Stripe
The Sweetest Thing Floral in Green
Bella Solids Marine
Marmalade Strawberry Jelly
It is a mixed up bunch, but believe it or not, I have a reason for every one of those fabrics purchased! And I can't wait to use them!

Giant Star Quilt
I seen In Color Order's Giant Start Quilt tutorial a long long time ago. I pinned it and then forgot about it until about a month ago. I knew that I wanted to give it a go. And since it is turning in good snuggly under a quilt weather I thought now is a good a time as any to give it a go.
I recently picked up some Chevrons and a gorgeous Robert Kaufman print, London Calling and knew they would be perfect for this quilt.
Now I planned it out on paper then sat down to put it all together.
I thought I had it all planned perfectly, then I finished it. Held it up and noticed that I really could have done it a whole lot better!
So next time I am not to plan quilts at midnight and wake up early the next day and start doing them. I still like it, A LOT. But I am kicking myself that the prints in the star points don't match up.
It doesn't matter though, I could always make another one, right!?

Sunday Stash
A few weeks ago I got a scrumptious fabric delivery from Quilt Fabric Delights. In it there was this gorgeous jelly roll of Cuzco by Kate Spain for Moda.
Some gorgeous linen, some pink chevrons and some super super fabulous London Calling by Robert Kaufman.
The chevrons and London Calling are destined to be turned into a quilt and I have already used most of the linen. I'll show you later in the week what I made with it.
Linking up to Sunday Stash at Finding Fifth!

Green fabric goodness
I love fabric mail! And since signing up for the Colour Me Happy FQ Club over at Sew Lux Fabric I am gaureenteed to get some pretty awesome fabric mail every month.
Marches colour was green. Now, although I count green as one of my favourite colours, I don't seem to have much of it in my stash. So this pack has helped me a lot is rounding out my stash.
I can't wait to see what fabrcis arrive next month.

Fabric Love: Color Me Retro
Color Me Retro would have to be my favourite fabric line, well ever! The colours are just gorgeous, the patterns are divine.
I ordered some from Fat Quarter Shop not long ago and it arrived the other day. I also ordered 15 yards of white quilters cotton too. Yes 15 yards, it was cheap and even with postage, still cheaper than I can get it anywhere near here!
And I have a bit of stage fright going and am afraid to cut into them.

What would you make? What is your favourite fabric line?
Do you hesitate to cut into gorgeous fabric too?

Fabric Love
I know I said that I wasn't going to be buying anymore fabric for a while but, well I couldn't pass up on this.
Caden has been requesting a larger size Cat in a Hat quilt for a while, so I am going to try and get one knocked over for him while we are living at my grandparents next month.
But I have to finish Mahli's quilt first...
I just don't seem to be able to finish something before starting something else...

A Walk in The Woods
Mahli has been asking me to make her a quilt. She doesn’t actually have a mummy made quilt of her own. But both the boys do, so when I received some charm packs of Aneela Hoey’s new line A walk in the woods, I knew they would be perfect for her quilt.
Now I am toying with the idea of just doing a quick and easy charm squares quilt, but will no doubt look at a gazillion patterns before I decide.
But we layed out all the squares this morning so we could play around with a layout for the quilt top.
I really do love every single one of Aneela Hoey’s fabric lines. In fact my first ever quilt was made from Sherbet Pips!
What do you think of A Walk in the woods? I love its cute, whimsy prints!
