Long time, no see...

Wow, I opened my emails this morning to find one about this here blog so I thought I should open it up and low and behold I find out that I haven't posted a single thing on it in over 18 months! And hasn't life changed a lot in those 18 months.

The biggest change would be that we are now a family of SEVEN as we welcomed baby number 5 into our family in November 2017.

But honestly, I never meant for the blog to sit unused for so long, life just got really really busy and I guess it just slipped away from my list of priorities.

But I think 2018 will be the year when I get back into it all. It will be a year of big change for us all and I can't wait to share it with you all.

So that was 2012

2012 was a pretty big year for us. It started off with Caden starting Prep and Mahli going into Kindy. And it just got busier from there. B was promoted in early February and the new position brought he new challenges and a lot of stress. But he excelled in his new role and the experience he gained and skills he displayed opened the door for him to be recruited to a new role in Western Australia. The recruitment process started in July of 2012 and dominated the next 4 months of our lives. At the beginning all he new was that the job was in the Pilbara. They didn't disclose anything else so we had no idea where the rest of 2012 would take us.

In August he was flown to Perth and then we began to find out more information on where life would be taking us. We found out where exactly we would be living in the Pilbara and I was a little hesitant as it would be a long long way from anything.

But we weighed the pros and cons and well you know the rest. We began our move towards the end on October and B left us the first week of November to start his new position. I moved in with my Grandparents and we rented out our house back in QLD.

We started out 2012 thinking we would be calling Queensland our home for a long long time. And ended it living across the other side of the country away from all our family and friends.

But you know what? We are move excited about our future than we have ever been. It was the right move for us as a couple and family as well as for B and his career. I resigned from my position before we left and I will be a full time stay at home Mum for at least the next 12 months. I'll re-think things after Ethan starts Kindy in 2014.

So who knows what 2013 will be, but you know what? Bring it on!

30 days to go!

We are all on the count down to when we all hop on a plane and head over to reunite with B in WA. The last few weeks have been HARD. Lack of sleep is wearing me down as I battle with the three cherubs to get them to sleep in unfamiliar surroundings. One night was particularly hard when all three wanted me at the same time. That is not fun at 3 in the morning!

I have also been dealing with real estates as we try and organise the house to rent it out. That is beyond stressful!

Anyhow, I think that's enough whinging for one day!

So, that big news I had to share

Remember how back in Julyish I wrote these posts about breathing some new life into my Living areas and Bathroom? Well just days after I wrote those posts B received a phone call that would put a stop to my plans.

The phone call was about a job interview in Perth... He flew over in the last week of July and a few days later received another phone call telling him he has a medical to attend, the phone calls continued, more hoops to jump through. B was excited about it all as he has been wanting this career change for a while. Things progressed and B and I were offered a 'site visit', which means that the company flew us over to WA to check out the town we would call home and B would get a chance to meet the team he would work with etc. So we did just that not long ago...

If you follow me on instagram you would have probably noticed that I spent a bit of time on planes (6 planes in 3 days to be exact!) back in August.

Anyhow, now contracts have exchanged hands and notice has been given at his current work. Things are all very very real now. We are no longer going to be calling Queensland home. That alone feels strange. We both have only ever lived in Queensland. Although B has lived somewhere other than the town we call home now. Whereas me, well I was born here.

It is exciting and scary all at once. We will be moving to a town in the Pilbara. People have been asking if the remoteness will bother me. All I can say to that is well, I'm not sure. I am looking forward to this move in so many ways, but I really don't know what to expect once we get there.

What I know is that I will miss the ocean views that I see every single morning,I NEED to take photos of those before I leave. And I will no doubt miss my family and friends. But I guess I am excited by the unknown. Excited about our new adventure.
