Have I Told You Lately That I Love IKEA?

This post is RocketFuel sponsored

No? Well do you remember this post? It is the one were I told you we were travelling 12 hours return in one day just to go to IKEA...

Or here where I showed you some of my goodies that I got that day?

I could spend days in IKEA and still not want to leave. So much organisational solutions and so little time (and money)

IKEA have just released some short videos on YouTube sharing some ideas for organising 4 key areas in your house.

If you are looking for ways to tame your laundry check out this one.

Or if your bedroom is a problem, try this one. Or how about the kids rooms?

And don't forget the Study while you are at it.

I can definitely recommend these

We have one set in our laundry and it definitely stops the house looking like a Chinese laundry during winter and rain periods. Plus the kids can't reach it so it stops them pulling the clothes and dragging them around the house, like they do with airers... or is that just my kids?

And I need these for my bedroom.

Do you love IKEA? Or does the sheer size of the place scare you?

{Disclaimer: This post is a sponsored post. I accepted it because I freely talk about my love of IKEA anyway.}

Pinterest inspired book rack

A few weeks back I was looking for some ideas on how to store and display the kids books. We have a TONNE of books. We have books from my mums childhood, books from my childhood, my aunty has given us all of my cousins old books and then add it all the new books that have joined us since Caden was born and well I would say we easily have 1000 children's books... Short of boxing them all up and only have a few on the shelf I was at a loss for ideas.

Where else would I turn but pinterest. I found a few ideas, but there seemed to be a lot of pins devoted to this type of book rack:

So I decided I would give it a go:

It is mounted at end of the hallway near Mahli's bedroom.

I used this sweet little deer fabric that has been in my stash for a while. I am planning on making three smaller ones for Ethan's room and then some more for on the walls above Caden and Mahli's beds.

I would also love to give these ideas a go too:

How do you store your kids books?

Things I'm Loving

button2
Well if my nifty post scheduling worked (it didn't cause blogger crashed!) you should be ready this whilst I am either on my way to Ikea (a 6 hr drive away) or a am wandering through the maze that is Ikea OR I am in the car driving home from Ikea (I'm home...)...

Yep we are crazy enough to be doing that trip all in one day!  We left the kids with our trusty baby sitter aka My Mum and have ventured to Brisbane to get some much needed storage furniture. The kids rooms are badly needing some decent storage so we can take control of the every growing mound of toys! So I am shifting in the next phase of the Organised Home Challenge and tackling my kids rooms. Wish me luck...

So this if you haven't guess yet this week I am loving...

On my shopping list for today are 3 of these

a dozen or so of these

And plenty of Coffee as it's FREE at Ikea.

There are a few other things I want to check out... Oh, who am I kidding there are alot of other things I want to check out! I LOVE Ikea and haven't been in over 2 years. So am kinda having withdrawals at the moment.
Wish me luck!

I am playing only with Paisley Jade today. To see what everyone else is loving pop on over and say hi.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway here for your chance to win Disney's Lemonade Mouth on DVD. It is a great movie for the whole family.

Organised Home Challenge... An update

Remeber the Organised Home Challenge I joined in on the mousehouse is running...

Well Ta Dah!
That pesky Linen Cupboard... IS DONE!!! I got it done a few days ago whilst looking for things for my lil' brother. If you haven't read my previous post about what happened to him... here is a quick run done.

His house burnt down and unfortunately his housemate was home asleep at the time. He didn't make it... My condolences go to his friends and family... I don't want to say anymore about that as again, it's not my story...

G needed linen as he is staying with friends and has nothing so I set about to find him some. And I did...

So here is my before photo
Ugh, horrible hey!

And After!

With room down the bottom for the vacuum! YAY! Hubby was using it when I took this photo so that is why it isn't in it's new home! It will ive next to the poles we don't use for the portacot...

I put all the doona cover sets inside there pillow cases so nothing could get lost. I also put sheet set in the pillow cases with the doona sets it I only used them for that cover.

Oh, and do you notice how many novelty/beach towels we have??? A LOT! So if you know me well enough to by my kids birthday/Christmas presents, PLEASE no beach towels. K? Thanks.

I even made some Lavender scent satchels but Mahli decided that would be better off in her room. So I have to make some more...

Next on item on my list for the Challenge is the kids rooms... wish me luck! They are in need of new storage... which means I am shopping online at Ikea! Have I told you that I love that place? No... I'll save that for another post.

Organised Home Challenge 2011... is it a bust

Well to say I have majorly sucked at completing the Organised Home Challenge 2011 that mousehouse is hosting would be correct!

My Linen cupboard is still half done and I have started few other sections of my house that are yet to be blogged about, but they include the kids toys and my garage.

Where is the motivation fairy when you need her. It seems the procrastination fairy is sleeping on my couch at the moment. But it seems only in some areas. I have been flying through other lists have going for jobs that need done and sewing to be completed, but the Organised Home Challenge is just falling by the way side!

I am hoping by blogging about it and putting it out there I might shame myself into doing it... maybe.

Until next time xx

Is it the weekend already???

I have had a jam packed week, but it feels like it was Sunday like yesterday! I am ashamed to say I haven't finished my linen cupboard re-vamp {sad face}. You see baby E has been teething all week. So when I haven't been at work I have had a screaming baby on me knee. This week off teething has been all new to me. You may be thinking hang on a minute you already have three kids. How can teething be new to you??? Well I have been blessed with two older children that just woke up one day with a new tooth. No evidence of one popping up and then suddenly it was there. I am so thankful for that as this week has been hell!!! Here is hoping the others don't cause him this much grief.

So first on my to-do list for next week will be the linen cupboard! That is after I go to work for 3 hrs on Monday morning. I completely forgot I had work and my mum reminded me this morning. Thanks Mum I was happy in my dreaming of no work until next Saturday! And looking for to my trip to Brisbane kid free in between!

Well enough of my rambling. I have a roast dinner to check on! Happy weekend everyone!

Organised Home Challenge 2011: Challenge Number 1-The linen cupboard

Here I go! About to embarrass myself...

Okay some of the towels are neatly folded! But that is about it. I will update later in the week on how I go but here are some things I am planning:

  1. Doona covers- The kids each have a few so they will go in each of there rooms room in the top of there wardrobe to free up some space (which we need as we have a lot of sheets!!!)
  2. Bottom of cupboard will be cleared and my vacuum will live there again!
  3. All doona sets will go inside the matching pillow case (I have been meaning to do this for ages!)
  4. I got the idea from Meagan over at Mousehouse, but our linen sprays will live in here too now.
That is it for now. Wish me luck!!!
