I Am A Wuss

Yes, I am a scaredy cat...

Yep, you read right! I am a big wuss, a sooky lala, scaredy cat. I'll answer to any of those labels.

You see, B works a rotating day/night roster, and when he is on night shift do you think I can get to sleep without imagining noises in the house and outside? It is a rare occurrence when I can go to sleep easily when he isn't home. You would think I would be used to it by now considering he has been on the same roster for 5 and a half years, but no, its still the same.

I lay awake in bed hearing things, usually nothing of consequence but occasionally it is someone at the back gate teasing the dogs or jumping our front wall to cut across our front yard (we have a corner block).

A few months back there were some break in a few houses up, well that instigated some sleepless nights too.

So I just confessed to my loony like tendency. Can you share any of yours?? Do you have trouble sleeping when there isn't another adult in the house?

The Big Read...

Okay, so I thought I would have a go at reading my way through the BBC's Top 100 Books... As you can see as at 19th April 2011 I have read a total of 18 out of 100 books, so I have a long long way to go. I am thinking if I give myself until April 2013 then I should be through them... that's two years for 82 books... I figure I have made some allowances for Holidays and busy periods then I should be right. But to tell you the truth I am a wee bit scared, I mean The Lord of the Rings is at the top of the list. It was hard enough to get through the movie, how the hell am I going to get through the book??? But I am excited as I have always wants to read To Kill a Mockingbird and the Catcher in the Rye, so what better time then now.
