Board Games for Families

As families look for more ways to bond and spend quality time together, board games have made a huge comeback. But which games are the best for families to play together? Here are our top picks:

1. Monopoly - This classic game never gets old and is great for all ages. It's perfect for teaching children about money and finance, as well as strategy and negotiation skills.

2. Settlers of Catan - This game has taken the board game world by storm in recent years and it's easy to see why. With simple rules and endless possibilities, Settlers of Catan is great for family game nights.

3. Ticket to Ride - This game is a great option for families who love to travel and explore new places. It's also a great way to learn about geography and history.

4. Clue/Cluedo - This classic game is a must-have for any family game collection. It's great for teaching deduction and critical thinking skills.

5. Codenames - This game is perfect for families with older children or teens. It's a team-based game that requires strategic thinking and communication skills.

6. Apples to Apples - This game is perfect for families who love to laugh and have fun. It's a great option for younger children and it's sure to bring out the silliness in everyone. No matter which game you choose, the most important thing is spending quality time with your family. Board games are a great way to unplug and connect with each other, so gather your family around the table and let the fun begin!

SAHM Money Making Idea- Surveys

Are you looking for a fun and easy way to make some extra cash? Well, look no further than online surveys!

In today's digital age, there are a plethora of survey websites that pay individuals for sharing their opinions and thoughts on various topics. From food preferences to entertainment habits, there are surveys for just about anything. So, how exactly does it work? First, you'll need to sign up for a survey website or app, which is typically free and only requires a valid email address. Then, you'll be presented with a list of surveys to choose from. Each survey usually takes between 5-20 minutes to complete, and the payout ranges from a few cents to several dollars per survey. Some survey websites also offer bonuses or rewards for completing a certain number of surveys or referring friends. But before you dive in, it's important to remember that while taking surveys can be a great way to make extra money, it's not a get-rich-quick scheme. The payouts may not be substantial, and you'll need to put in time and effort to complete surveys consistently. However, if you're looking for a flexible way to make some extra cash in your free time, online surveys can be a fun and rewarding option. Plus, you get the added bonus of sharing your opinions and feedback to help companies improve their products and services. So, why not give it a try? Sign up for a survey website today and start earning some extra money in no time!

Long time, no see...

Wow, I opened my emails this morning to find one about this here blog so I thought I should open it up and low and behold I find out that I haven't posted a single thing on it in over 18 months! And hasn't life changed a lot in those 18 months.

The biggest change would be that we are now a family of SEVEN as we welcomed baby number 5 into our family in November 2017.

But honestly, I never meant for the blog to sit unused for so long, life just got really really busy and I guess it just slipped away from my list of priorities.

But I think 2018 will be the year when I get back into it all. It will be a year of big change for us all and I can't wait to share it with you all.

Winter Warmers

With the change of seasons always comes a change of colours in my bedding. All summer I had bright doona covers in greens and blues and winter seems to bring out the more muted tones of greys, but I do usually throw in some bright accents with colour throws. But I haven't decided which colour to use for my new Florence Broadhurst doona cover from Just Bedding.

The kids have declared this doona the most comfiest one EVER and I am forever prying them out of my bed and reminding them that they have there own.

And now they are insistent that because I have new bedding that they need some too.

Mahli has added these to her wish list:

Caden wants this one -

And Ethan thinks these two might be nice ;)

What bright colour accent should I use in my room? Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you change your colour scheme in your bedroom depending on the season?

*I was gifted the doona cover for the purpose of this post. All opinions are my own.

Zipper Pouch Sewing

Over the weekend I crossed a small project off my to do list and that was to make myself a zipper pouch big enough for my Jamberry mini heater, deluxe tool set and a few jams.

I picked a purple geometric print fabric so it would all colour co-ordinate (of course) and in less than 20 minutes I had a zipper pouch that was the perfect size.

I can even fit my application kit and a few extras in there too.

Now to figure out another way I to combine my love of sewing AND Jamberry....

Have you been crafting lately?

monday gratefuls

Happy Monday!

I've missed a few weeks of Monday gratefuls because our internet has been shocking but it seems to be going working again! So I guess that's my first grateful. Working internet FTW!

We are now into our second week of school holidays and I'm loving it. Have I told you how much I love school holidays? Easy breezy mornings, the kids playing outside together all day. In fact they haven't played on an electronic device all holidays. It's been fabulous.

I'm also grateful for my decision two months ago to join Jamberry, it's been fabulous. I've been having so much fun and I've met some truly awesome people.

So that's it for my gratefuls this week.

Beehive Catch up

Yesterday I actually had time to sew! It was like an Easter miracle, I got up in the morning and B asked if I wanted to sew today? Did I want to sew? Heck Yes! No need to ask me twice.

First up I had to finish of some Wanta Fanta blocks for our January Queen Bee. Yes I am soo late in getting these done, but they are done now and they will be in the mail today.

Then it was onto this month's Queen Bee's block and she picked Tic Tac Toe in Aqua's, Navy's and Low Volume. I love the tic tac toe block, it is SO EASY to put together I don't even need to refer to the cutting or piecing instructions anymore. I can put this baby together with my eyes closed, well almost!

And since I was on a roll I thought it was about time I pieced together my blocks from last years Beehive. I still need to make four of those blocks, but the 12 I already have are pieced into rows so that they are ready for my last four blocks that I am hoping to get made this week.

And with that, I am all caught up with my required sewing! We for the next three days anyway, before I start on next month's Queen's blocks. I've had a sneak peek of her block and it's one I haven't made before. I excited to give it a go.

monday gratefuls

Monday is almost over but I thought I'd pop in to share my gratefuls.

1. Thanks to B I had time to sew today.
2. We had a lovely quiet Easter and home and the kids didn't consume too much chocolate
3. Darcy is starting to talk more and it's pretty cute.

monday gratefuls

I haven't done a monday gratefuls post in a while and I think it's time to start doing them again.

We've had a busy few months but right now I have a lot to be grateful for and it's good to take a moment and acknowledge those thing.

1. I'm grateful for our health. B had a knee op just under a fortnight ago and he is recovering well and everyone else is fit and healthy and that is awesome.

2. Visitors- We just had my Mum stay with us for a fortnight and she was a great help. She looked after C and E when we had to go to Perth for B's knee op and M's orthodontist appointments.

3. I'm grateful for new friends. I recently became a Jamberry Independent Consultant and I've met a wonderful bunch of ladies that I'm now pleased to call my friends.

Planes, Trains, Hospitals, Orthodontists...

Last week we headed to Perth for some medical appointments. We had to leave two of the boys at home with my Mum who travelled over to look after them for us.

So I spent a whole 5 days only being responsible for two kids. Man that was easy! Whilst our time away was filled with hospitals and orthodontists offices I still made sure that we fitted in some fun stuff. We took the train to Fremantle for fish and chips and a play in the park, we went shopping in the city and went swimming.

It was great to spend some time with Mahli without the bigger boys around, I hardly ever get to have one on one time with the older three kids so it was great to chat with her and she talk to me a lot last week.

Don't get me wrong, I missed the boys like mad but even with B being in hospital it was a relatively stress free week.

But we are home now and it's back to parenting 4 kids and all that it entails. And with B recoverying from surgery things have been very busy.

Did I mention that I've also become an Independent Consultant with Jamberry? I'm loving it and have met loads of great ladies and my nails have never looked this good!

Let me know if you want to try a sample :)

So it's February already

Just because he's cute

It's February and I have neglected this little blog for about a month now. I didn't plan for that to happen, but with school holidays and then the whole back to school business, it did.

We spent most of January in Perth for various appointments and our yearly 'buy all the things that we haven't been able to buy because we live in the middle of nowhere' trip.

And then life hasn't stopped since we got home.  Mahli turned 8 (EIGHT! How did that happen?), school started for the year and I'd love to be able to say that it's been smooth sailing but it hasn't, I've been busy with some behind the scenes planning for things happening at ASWC this year. And I've also signed up to be a Wellness Advocate with doTERRA (I'm pretty excited about that).

Anyway, I'm not sure what this blog post is for exactly, I guess I just felt bad for neglecting this space...

Hopefully I'll be back next week with something a little more interesting to share.
