I have been checking out pinterest on and off for the last few weeks to hunt down some ideas. I think I found a few!
My two eldest head to Prep and Kindy next week. So my to do list this week is a little daunting. But hopefully lunch boxes wont break me out into a cold sweet anymore since I have some ideas up my sleeve.
I am linking up with Tina for Piquing My Pinterest and Natasha for Pinning and Singing.
They look fabulous. Except I'm well aware my daughter will tip her lunchbox, shake it, drop it, and quite likely sit on it too. Not so fancy any more.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid she will get a nutella bread roll, muesli bar and banana every day of her schooling life.
Sure beats the mangled and sweaty vegemite sandwiches my mum packed me!
we are on the same wavelength - i covered planning and lunchbox notes and jokes today - avoiding the actual food ideas on pinterest yet - next stop though. i never seem to find any ideas that my kids will actually eat. if i add 3 new things to their lunchboxes this year i will be thrilled!
ReplyDeleteYou are right Blundermum, it would be better than a sweaty vegemite sandwich!
ReplyDeleteI won’t be doing the full bento thing, but will be trying to incorporate the ideas of a the bento box.
Deb- Lol, I think there will be a few QLD’ers doing that this week Deb! I can’t believe that school is back next Monday!

Love them they al look cool . But with me it is even more of a challenge with high school lunches *sigh* Might go with the sushi she likes that.
ReplyDeleteSome great pins there. I can relate to the lettuce and cheese sandwiches too. They were a regular in my lunch box as a kid! Thanks for linking up this week x
ReplyDeleteI always start the year so well with lunchboxes filled with exciting goodies. We slowly deteriorate as the year goes by so that by around October the boys are going to school with vegemite sandwiches (usually on stale bread) with a rubbery stick of carrott
ReplyDeleteI'll be making 2 lots as well this year (dreading it - especially with no canteen to give some respite at times)! Eldest is fussy so a bug challenge there. They do tend to shake lunch boxes around a fair bit so anything too pretty or delicate is out of the question. But if anyone can pull off any of the above on a daily basis, I take my hat off to you :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not quite at lunchbox age yet, but I still get bored of churning out the same lunches at home all the time, so thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Those lunchboxes are fantastic. I certainly never had anything like that when I was at school.
ReplyDeleteThis is Piquing My Pinterest
Great ideas! I don't have to deal with lunches just yet but I have a hard enough time putting together my son's morning tea for Kindy.
ReplyDeleteSome great ideas here. i have been pinning lunches too lately lol. There are some gorgeous ones on Pinterest but I just cannot imagine they would come out of the school bag at lunch time looking as god as that :) lol xx
ReplyDeleteI've been doing lunches for a while for Hunter as he did 2 full days at kindy so had lunches for that and school last term. He likes the same thing and has been having ham and pineapple pizza. I make it on the weekend (including the dough) and freeze it for during the week. Or we may do quiche or zucchini slice.
ReplyDeleteSheesh! Talk about performance anxiety! I guess the days of an apple and vegemite sandwich are gone. I have so so much to learn.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas here-thanks for sharing them. I just tweeted about this post I loved it so much!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up to my weekly Pinterest party-I'm so happy you joined in!
Best wishes for a great week,
