So I missed 2 weeks of documenting my gratefuls here on the blog, but that is because I was off gallivanting in QLD with my family. So there was lots of gratefuls over the last few weeks, just not shared here.
Anyhow, this week I am grateful for:
- The Bullbar on our car. Yep, this is a strange one, but I was unlucky enough to hit a kangaroo last week when I was driving home from Perth. The bull bar was a godsend in that one moment.
- Home. The feeling of pulling up in our driveway after two weeks away is indescribable
- Family. We had such a great time over the last fortnight spending time with many people in our extended family
- The circle of life. We lost a much loved family pet over the weekend. Yes it was incredibly sad for our family, but instead of dwelling on our loss I used it to teach the kids about the circle of life. We have had discussions about heaven and why things happen like this. I also explained to them that it is okay to not have all the answers and that sadness is a perfectly okay emotion and not to be afraid of it. Yes, I realise that it is a strange thing to be grateful for, but I'm consciously trying to change the way we look at things in the world. By actively looking for alternate views of a particular situation. Yes, this may not be a cup of tea for some people, but it's working for me.
What are you grateful for this week?
