Weekending

Well it feels like we packed about two weekends worth of activities into one and I am beat!

We thought it would be a great idea to head to the coast for the day on Saturday as we needed to do some shopping. It's 4 hours each way! But we have no shops here and Caden needed some warmer clothes and we needed some other stuff too. I have been writing a shopping list for the last two months for the trip...

We passed and got stuck behind a heap of oversize loads!

We enjoyed some of the scenery! Please excuse the photo's from my phone... I forgot my camera!

We shopped up a storm! 2 and a half trolleys at K-Mart to be exact! K-Mart was really the only store in the town we visited. There isn't much in the way of retail options up this way. But those 2 and a half trolleys contained a load of boring stuff like darker coloured sheets, because the red dirt up here was ruining my beautiful white sheets and quilt covers. A new bin for the kitchen, storage stuff, and warmer clothes for the kids. All things that we can't get here.

And a few hours later we turned around and drove the 4 hours home! Man we were beat.

But then we were up early Sunday morning for Caden's first ever game of soccer.

And then B had an AFL game in the afternoon, if you knew him you would know just how funny that is! He is a Rugby League man through and through and has no idea how to play AFL, but there is no Rugby League here and he has to play something so in all his wisdom he decided to give AFL a go!

I didn't get to watch him though as Ethan was in need of a sleep. Maybe next week.

What did you get up to on the weekend?

  1. Oh wow your photos remind me of when I lived in outback Queensland. There were always massive pieces of drilling equipment being carted up and down the highway. Once on a very misty morning there was a house, a whole house, being trucked down the road! You live in a beautiful part of the world. Slightly jealous...
