About two months ago, something special happened in the MahliMoo, Me and Three house. One morning B and awoke at 630am and turned to each other and simultaneously announced 'Did he really sleep through?, OMG he did!' At 16 months old the kid is finally sleeping all night! It was a wonder to behold. And then we had to wash his new pyjamas... Major Fail. He woke three times that night when he was wearing different Pj's.
So these babies have now been dubbed the Magical Pyjamas.
I've told you before that this kid is just so hard to take a photo of! |
They are ErgoPouch Bamboo Cotton Pyjamas and we are adding a few more pairs to his wardrobe too so that we will never be caught out again. You may think that this is all codswallop, but hey, we have been waking up to 4 times a night since June 2010, I am just going to stick with whatever works!
Now, unfortunately I don't have a pair of Pyjamas to giveaway but I do have one ErgoPouch sleeping bag.
It is a size 12-36m and is a nice and cosy 3.5TOG weight bag.
To enter I would like you tell me how you got through the days/months/years of nighttime waking?
Entries will close on Sunday 18th of December and will be drawn on Monday 19th of December 2011 and announced here on the blog

With three kids ranging in age from 7 years old to 20 months, I have had my fair share of sleepless nights that's for sure!!
ReplyDeleteI am not really sure how I coped/cope, I guess I just fumbled through the day time until night came around again with the promise of a few all-important hours of sleep (on a very good night!) Sometimes my mum would take the kids to her place so I could have a nana nap and occasionally hubby would get up instead of me ( but not too often as he has 3am starts!) I guess we are like Nike. We Just Do It!
I think I made it through by staring at them when they were asleep, how peaceful and perfect the 4 of them are and how lucky I am to be blessed with such amazing children.
ReplyDeleteI have a girl who's 1 tomorrow (party time!) and she wakes multiple times through the night.. I cope by going to bed at the same time she does (or if she goes to bed early.. by 9pm anyway). I get a few good hours sleep in my bed, then hop in with her in the early hours when she wakes and feed her back to sleep - I normally fall asleep at the same time. Chocolate and facebook during the day help too ;)

I seem to remember feeling best with 5-6 hours sleep (broken) - but I reserve the right to retract ever saying that in 6 weeks when number 4 arrives! Might need some miracle pyjamas!
ReplyDeleteWith my son, TV on DVD. I would feed and settle for at LEAST an episode, if not more. This time around, my smartphone! Holla American blogs for providing midnight reading!
ReplyDeleteMy bub is 8 months old... what I'd give for a full 6 hours of sleep! To cope with night time sleep interruptions, we first try the snuggle in bed with Mummy for booby time and if that fails and she's wide awake, it's out to the lounge room where I thank the TV gods for creating The Waybaloos and T-box recording!!!
ReplyDeleteI am not long out of the night waking with a 15mo and we still have some VERY early mornings. Tbh it's all too close for me to tell you how I got thru it, I still don't know how I have survived except to say that without my wonderful husband sharing the load I would have gone absolutely bonkers months and months ago :) Would love to try one of these. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI play music throughout the day it cheers me up and helps my bub sleep
ReplyDeleteThis would be perfect for Princess as she will fit it perfectly come next winter.
ReplyDeleteMy eldest was really bad with sleep and really the only way I got through was with hubby and the Lullabub. They literally saved us! Sleep deprivation is by far one of the worst things that can happen to a parent and child. The Lullabub rocks them to sleep, it is a wonderful!!
Curling up with the ipad reading news sites and blogs lol
ReplyDeleteI always relax and tell myself its not for ever.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the sleepness nights some how (I tell myself its because they love my company. haha) and catch up on it when you can.
At the moment we are just trying to get through. I am so tired, between miss 10 weeks wanting to feed allllllllllllll night and Mr 2 and 4 months teething or something! Gah!
ReplyDeleteMmmm... thanks for the reminder about night wakings! :) We have a new one due soon and I keep trying to forget! :) The only thing I can do to survive is remind myself "one day at a time" and then soak up all those cuddles and smiles the next day to fill my love tank and do it all over again that night.
ReplyDeleteMagic PJ's though!? That sounds even better! ;)

Oh I do remember those nights of waking, I used to envy friends who had full nights sleeps, like you mine went on for ever, no matter what we tried. So in the end rather than grumble about it I turned it into a positive. I would settle her, then do a spot of dusting, quick sweep etc, till she was asleep, oddly enough it was the cleanest my house had ever been hahahaahahha.
ReplyDeleteOh, I know the feeling of multiple waking in the night. My 9 month old son has never slept through, and wakes every couple of hours on a good night. My first tip is to not listen to the other parents whose children have always slept through- ho, hum! (Funny enough, this is a similar tip that the community nurse gave me about going to mother's group- 'Don't sit next to the Mother that has a quiet baby. Don't know what she was trying to tell me about my 1 week old! LOL).
ReplyDeleteMy other tip is to think that some day I am going to miss my little one relying upon me so much!
PS Hope the sleeping bag is as magic as the pjs). russellcathryn at yahoo.com.au
I think the main way to get through was sleeping when the baby slept - especially during their daytime sleeps I could go and have a lie down to catch up. The housewor and all other things can wait - if you dont get enough sleep then you just cant function as a parent.
ReplyDeleteSecond child is 6 months and wakes every 3 or 4 hours I get by with dark circles and bags under my eyes, a sometimes grumpy demeanor but a heart full of love
